This website was created by Caroline Cheng, the Founder of the Seneca Taiwanese Student Association (STSA). STSA was established to support Taiwanese students studying at Seneca Polytechnic while also welcoming students from all backgrounds who are interested in Taiwanese culture, language, and community connection. The idea for STSA grew from firsthand experience navigating life as an international student, feeling both the excitement of new beginnings and the challenges of adapting to a new country.
Mission Statement
STSA’s mission is to create a welcoming space where Taiwanese and international students feel supported, connected, and confident as they begin their journey at Seneca and in Canada.
Through STSA and this website, Caroline aims to help students feel less alone during their transition to Canada and campus life. The blog shares real stories, practical advice, and cultural reflections that speak directly to the experiences of new international students, especially those who may feel shy, homesick, or uncertain at the start of their journey. Every post is created with the goal of offering encouragement, clarity, and a sense of belonging.
STSA continues to grow as a student-led community built on empathy, cultural pride, and shared experience. This website serves as a digital home for students seeking guidance, friendship, and meaningful campus involvement. Whether you are newly arrived in Canada or simply curious about Taiwanese culture, this space is here to support, connect, and inspire you.
